After changing my whole diet I finally also switched my salt to a Himalayan pink salt from Sustainable Sourcing https://secure.sustainablesourcing.com since it is non GMO and gluten-free and made in their own facility with no cross-contamination. I'm always so happy when I come across these finds and just have to share!

Organic dairy is the easiest to actually do since you can reliably buy organic milk by selecting only dairy products with the USDA organic seal. That's what we do. Artificial colors and GM foods are tough because the foods you want to avoid aren't reliably labeled. So my advice for any family starting out on this journey is, if you eat dairy products, always select Organic. You can relax and know that you are doing something great for the planet and your children. THEN you can begin to look for artificial colors on food labels. GM foods -- well, they're in things we have no idea that we're eating. They are not in foods with the USDA Organic seal -- unless there has been accidental cross contamination from a nearby farm, but that's another story!

That is a toughie! I think they have all been omitted from our lives. Artificial colors are a nightmare, as are the GMO's and medicated cows. When I came to the USA from Canada I gained a lot of weight - eating the same things, a few years later I noticed sensitivities and finally major reactions to foods. Through the process of elimination and a quest for 'what is wrong with me?, and my favorite why am I so weak?'......did I realize how darn strong I really was. My body was warning me against toxins disguised as food. My adventures landed me in the farmers markets eating local, fresh, ripe, seasonal fruits with all my meats bought at whole foods using the animal welfare status to get step 4 or 5 meats. Food is a right we have, thereby we should be aware - fully aware of what is in it, what it is made of, how it is made. People should have full disclosure to make those choices and in am fairly certain they would also opt out.
