I've learned result-oriented things by your blog site. One other thing I'd prefer to say is the fact newer pc operating systems are likely to allow additional memory for use, but they likewise demand more memory simply to perform. If a person's computer is unable to handle far more memory as well as the newest computer software requires that memory space increase, it could be the time to shop for a new Laptop or computer. Thanks

Even without this knowledge I have managed to stay away from aspartame for as long as I have been enjoying food and beverages (all my life). It's not that I am a scientist or am loaded with some sort of special knowledge on the subject. I do however remember as a teenager picking up a packet of artificial sweetener and while I was debating trying it I have read the box which warned that the product may cause cancer. This was over 10 years ago and sadly that piece of information is most likely no longer there. I do however feel helpless over the chemicals we are bombarded with in everyday life nowadays. I think we as consumers have to do a lot of research to figure out the simple choices in everyday life. I for one hope that our country would help us out in making those "now so difficult choices".
But many believe in "ignorance being bliss". I try to help educate the people around me, but many times I do fail in my attempts. I really hope something is done and I don't mean public healthcare run by the government.

Thanks for this excellent synopsis of aspartame's history. As a struggling diet coke addict (I really think it is addictive), this is just the information I need to finally kick my long time habit. I have stopped drinking diet coke on and off numerous times over the last few years, but always find myself going back to it. It's nasty stuff, no doubt about it. I avoid aspartame in everything BUT diet coke. Now it's done!! Thanks again.

Great coverage of the problems with aspartame, plus the problems with industry-funded research in general! This is why industry self-policing itself in almost every area of US commerce is a big fat mistake -- we see this with BPA, phthalates and so many other things. Industry research says its safe; independent research says its not. To me it's kind of tragic that the major sugar consumption issues in this country (and the resulting diabetes epidemic) are addressed by creating artificial substitutes (more chemicals!), instead of steering people towards real unprocessed foods.
