I have read many books about how we’re poisoning our bodies with processed foods and I just recently read a book called Coconut Oil Miracle and it made some pretty bold statements about how our government subsidizes the corn and soy industry and in the 80′s and 90′s pushed coconut oil out of business and that’s about the time all the diseases and cancers started to go through the roof. The unsaturated oil industry is poisoning us with everything we eat but they tell us it’s healthy. This book paints Coconut oil, being a medium chain fatty acid as “different” and basically a superfood that supports everything from the immune system to even assisting in losing weight. I would LOVE to believe this and just start using it. THey even site cultures were 60 % of their calories come from coconuts and they have no disease, are not overweight and don’t even have cavities! Many people I read about agree while others still lump it with all saturated fats as something to avoid. I am going green, local, organic and do not purchase ANYTHING processed. I make all my own food but I can’t make oil. What is your opinion?

“A nation is only as healthy as its children”. I couldn’t agree more.. that’s why us moms strive to give only the healthiest for our kids. Given the unhealthy distractions everywhere, it sure can be tough.
